In My Shirt - Toon Kortooms

In mijn hemd is a humorous and autobiographical regional novel. The book tells the story of young, optimistic Brabant journalist Toon. He works for a local newspaper in Eindhoven but dreams of breaking through as a successful writer.

The book paints a nostalgic, cheerful, and sometimes slightly chaotic picture of journalistic life and village and city life in the Peel region and Eindhoven right after the Second World War.
