The Golden Kid - Toon Kortooms

Het gouden Jantje (Golden Jantje) is a humorous and nostalgic picaresque novel. The book tells the life story of Jan (Jantje), an arch-optimist and a born survivor who grows up in the Brabant countryside.

The title refers to the proverbial luck Jan seems to have: whatever he undertakes, no matter how great the crisis, he always manages to emerge better off financially or personally. In other words, he has "golden hands" and a dose of luck that seems to make him invulnerable.
