One day, when our friends Hielke and Sietse are in the village across the lake, they notice a fierljeppen competition in progress. Suddenly, they discover Gerben among the participants; he hadn't told the twins about it for fear of looking foolish. That fear turns out to be justified. On their way back, they encounter Wiebe Elzinga and Paulien Pasma, who are being harassed by Karel Zijlstra. Together with the twins, they set up the new tourist information office where Wiebe and Paulien can work together.
