The Chameleon Remains a Favorite - H. de Roos

The peaceful Frisian village of Lenten is turned completely upside down in this part by the arrival of a group of boisterous city students.

• The students: A student association rents an old, dilapidated farm near the village to renovate it themselves. Their presence causes quite a stir and hilarity in the village.

• The challenge: The students challenge the funny farmhand Gerben Zonderland to a swimming competition. Gerben – who never lets himself be outdone, of course – accepts the challenge with great bravado.

• Help from the twins: Although he talks a big game, Gerben realizes that those trained students swim damn fast. He does everything he can to win and enlists the help of the twins Hielke and Sietse Klinkhamer. Together with the Kameleon, they devise a plan to outsmart the students.

• Pauline: In this book, we also meet the character Pauline Wijnstra for the first time, who is rescued from the water by the twins after she falls in.
