The Christening Candle - M. Everma

The story follows the Roman Catholic Bartels family from Heiloo, whose youngest son, Jos, is born blind. Despite the initial shock and grief within the traditional family, Jos develops into a very talented violinist with the help of his younger sister, Hilde. Throughout all trials, growing up, and changing times, the symbolic baptismal candle consistently plays a crucial, unifying role in their lives.
