But few people know much about the artist, commonly known as M.I. Hummel, and even fewer are aware of her earlier works, which include the surprisingly unsentimental caricatures, sensitive portraits and idyllic landscapes produced during her years as an art student in Munich. The accomplishments of the other Hummel are the focus of this colourful collection of more than 400 illustrations from the archives of the Berta Hummel Museum in Massing, Germany. An introductory essay by art historian Genovena Nitz and brief biography examine Hummel's entire body of work while a rare interview with Berta's sister, Centa, provides insight into the popular artist's work.

Boekgegevens

Auteur: Hummel, Maria Innocentia; Berta Hummel Museum; Nitz, Genoveva

Uitgever: Prestel Pub

Jaar: 2003

Bindwijze: Hardcover

Aantal pagina's: 2

Taal: Engels

Conditie: Als nieuw

ISBN/EAN: 9783791328249

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0655/7476/4601/files/550x687_38796903-075e-4fb1-bf81-ec45efa04f81.jpg?v=1788107555
https://boeken-plein.nl/products/berta-hummel-catalogue-raisonne-1927-1931-student-days-in-munich-studienzeit-in-munchen-97
